Payment integration for a self-service portal

Challenge

The self-service portal had to handle card and subscription payments securely and at scale – while a migration of many customers put demands on caching, performance and stability.

My role

Software Developer, Solution Architect. I was responsible for or carried out the following:

• Implementation of a REST-based payment microservice integrating card payments and subscription payments via external payment platforms.
• Upgrade and configuration of Azure Redis Cache Premium in connection with the customer migration.
• Implementation of bug fixes, Blazor components and backend REST endpoints.

Solution

A standalone payment microservice (REST) integrating the payment and subscription platforms, secured via Azure KeyVault and with clear error handling. Azure Redis Cache was upgraded and configured for the migration, and the portal was extended with new Blazor components and backend endpoints.

Outcome

A secure and operationally stable payment integration that could go live during the customer migration without downtime for self-service.
